Join us in Albany on March 4th for our official Lobby Day!
Jews for Racial and Economic Justice, JFREJ, helps lead the powerful NY Caring Majority coalition, a movement of older adults, people with disabilities, family caregivers, and home care workers across the state. We are organizing to solve New York’s worst-in-the-nation home care crisis with fair wages for caregivers, and dignity for everyone who provides and relies on care. This work is deeply feminist, socialist, and anti-racist, and it’s changed my life.
Join us in Albany on March 4th for our official Lobby Day!
We’re currently working to pass the Home Care Savings & Reimbursement Act, which we launched back in December – watch this video from the kick-off rally!
This bill would change the Medicaid home care delivery system so that private insurance companies can no longer steal $3 billion meant for home care worker wages every year.
The time is *now* to get our state legislators to support the bill, so I hope you’ll take one small action today: call your representatives and ask them to be co-sponsors!
You can check to see which legislators have already co-sponsored the Home Care Savings & Reinvestment Act bill here for the Assembly and here for the Senate. Click here to find out who represents you in the state legislature, and if your reps don’t already support this legislation, call them now and urge them to sign on!
Ask your state legislators to be Home Care Champions in this year's budget!
We can’t stop at calls. We’re heading up to Albany on March 4th to talk to legislators face-to-face – will you come with us? If you’re worried about accessibility and transportation, we can help. But the first step to joining us is to tell us you want to come!
