777 United Nations Plaza
New York, NY 10017
As heads of state gather for the annual United Nations General Assembly, we come together with people from various faith traditions and sectors of civil society to condemn gross distortions of faiths by governments and politicians to advance supremacist and nationalistic policy agendas across the globe.
From Hindu Nationalism in India to Jewish Supremacy or Nationalism in Israel, Islamic Nationalism in Pakistan to Christian Nationalism in the United States, and beyond, we unequivocally condemn these ideologies and their use by world leaders to justify genocidal actions and ethno-centric violence, fuel anti-immigrant scapegoating, and legitimize alliances with autocratic regimes.
We reject all forms of religious nationalism as they are inherently antidemocratic and strip billions of people worldwide of their religious freedom and basic human rights. When religions are nationalized and weaponized to serve as tools of oppression against their people, including religious minorities, we must speak out!
Please RSVP!
