Mark King–Protecting Land, Preserving Our Future: How Land Trusts Combat Climate Change

Mark King of the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy will explore the crucial role of land trusts in combating climate change. Through his presentation, you’ll learn about the Conservancy’s efforts in preserving undeveloped land, a vital strategy for protecting natural ecosystems that are essential to the health of both our planet and our communities. Mark will also highlight the importance of land connectivity, particularly between the Catskills and the Adirondacks, and how natural corridors help mitigate climate impact while fostering stronger connections between people and the environment. Don’t miss this opportunity to deepen your understanding of how protecting land can help build a more sustainable and resilient future.

About the Westminster Climate Forum:
Recognizing the need for immediate action on the climate crisis, Westminster Presbyterian Church will host four events at the church between fall of 2024 and fall of 2025, each to feature a speaker focusing on the need for all of us to keep the reality of climate change top of mind and providing information and tools for individual and group policy advocacy to move away from fossil fuels and toward renewable energy and environmental justice.
