The Children's Agenda: Interfaith Collaborative

My name is Sushmitha Madaboosi and I serve as the Advocacy Coordinator at The Children’s Agenda. I am leading The Children’s Agenda Interfaith Collaborative work, along with Brigit Hurley. I am writing to you today with some information regarding The Children’s Agenda's local coordination of the Children’s Interfaith Weekend (CIW), sometimes called the Children’s Sabbath.

Each year, The Children's Agenda's Interfaith Collaborative organizes Children's Interfaith Weekend.

Over the years, thousands of people in Monroe County have participated in one or more of the three components of the Weekend:

• Praying for or lifting up the needs of children in worship services,

• Learning about challenges facing children and the proven solutions to address them, and

• Taking action to help children by signing petitions or letters that are delivered to a local or state elected official.

You can now sign up your faith community or organization to participate in Children's Interfaith Weekend, which will take place during October 18th- October 20th. You will receive invitations to county-wide events and information and resources to help your community plan your own activities. This will include everything you need for your community or organization to send letters to legislators advocating for changes in laws and policies. 2024 Children's Interfaith Weekend Registration (everyaction.com).
