Please join us for a FIACONA Forum featuring Dr. Fernand de Varennes, former United Nations Special Rapportuer on Minority Issues. Dr Varennes serves as Extraordinary Professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Pretoria, Adjunct Professor at the National University of Ireland-Galway (Ireland), and Cheng Yu Tung Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Hong Kong (China).

We will review India's human rights record, policies determining treatment of minorities including Christians and other religious minority groups, projections for the future and appropriate international responses by civil society.  

FIACONA board members the Rev. Dr. Evangeline Rajkumar will start us off by situating challenges based on gender, ethnicity, race and identity and Mr. Pieter Frederich, a journalist specializing on religious freedom in India, will assist us in fielding questions.
