What We do

We provide tools for community organizing and legislative actions for faith-based organizations.

NYSCOC is a dedicated online resource that empowers faith-based organizations by providing essential tools for community organizing and legislative actions. Our platform supports religious groups in amplifying their social impact, helping them navigate the complexities of policy-making and community engagement effectively. By offering expert guidance, strategic resources, and a supportive network, we enable these organizations to advocate for meaningful change and better serve their communities

NYSCOC Programs

NYSCOC empowers congregations and denominations to work ecumenically, to do justice, and to develop their property for the benefit of their community.

We are both religiously based and community-oriented, working throughout New York state connecting rural, urban, and suburban communities and congregations.

We also certify and support Protestant Chaplains serving New York State agencies.

Affordable Housing and Community Development Initiatives

Congregations are called to use their property to take care of their neighbors, developing their mission to reach out to communities to revitalize and grow. We offer creative ways to redevelop property for the benefit of the community.

Community Solar Program

We have partnered with an experienced solar consulting company to help your congregation and community save and even make money while saving the environment. Together we partner under a grant from NYSERDA.

Chaplaincy

The New York State Council of Churches certifies and supports Protestant Chaplains serving in state institutions including the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision , Office of Children and Family Services, and Office of Mental Health.

Ecumenical and Interfaith Relationships

It is the essence of ecumenical work to seek ways of helping all humanity to know the nurturing and continually creating presence of God.

Tools for Adult and Youth Faith Formation

The Council at its beginnings was called the New York Sunday School Association. We invite people of all ages to reflect deeply on their faith through study, worship, and action.

Religious Nationalisms Project & Anti Racism Resources

The Religious Nationalisms Project (TRNP) is a national initiative designed to convene, educate, train, and mobilize faith communities in response to the rising threat of religious nationalisms in the United States.

We'd love to connect with you in effort to make our advocacy work stronger.
